MBG Kitchen Adjacent to the Prayer Room, Volunteers and Residents of Sukorejo Kendal Break the Fast Together

In an effort to strengthen togetherness and friendship in the holy month of Ramadan, SPPG Kendal Sukorejo 1 volunteers held an iftar event with the Afdhatul Khasanah Azzahra prayer room congregation in Sukorejo Village, Dukuh Tlangu, Sukorejo District, Kendal Regency, Saturday (21/2/2026).

The activity took place solemnly and full of intimacy. Approaching the time to break the fast, the event began with the reading of the holy Koran verses delivered by volunteers, followed by recitation and tausiyah delivered by Kyai Asnawi from Kalibogor.

Chairman of the Anugerah Rochmat Azzahra Foundation, Eko Ardi Nugraha, said that the joint breaking of the fast activity was deliberately held as a form of togetherness between volunteers and prayer room congregation, considering that the location of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) kitchen is directly adjacent to the prayer room.

“Because the MBG kitchen and prayer room live side by side, we are all like one family. Joint activities like this are very good for strengthening friendship,” said Ardi, his nickname.

He also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the prayer room congregation who had accepted the existence of the MBG kitchen in the Dukuh Tlangu area. According to him, community support is an important part of the program’s sustainability.

“We would like to thank the prayer room congregation who have accepted the existence of the MBG kitchen here. Our goal, apart from providing the best nutrition for children, is no less important is to open up employment opportunities for the residents of Tlangu and the surrounding areas,” he explained.

Meanwhile, in his tausiyah, Kyai Asnawi emphasized the importance of maintaining friendship between Muslims, especially in the month of Ramadan. He also reminded the congregation about the privilege of fasting which is not only valuable as personal worship, but also strengthens social relations in society.

It is hoped that this joint breaking of the fast activity can further strengthen relations between SPPG volunteers, MBG kitchen managers and the surrounding community, as well as foster a spirit of togetherness and social awareness during Ramadan.**
